Solo Plumbing & Heating has been operating since 2002 and is owned and run by myself, Ben Combe.

Following a short career in architecture including 5 years at university where I gained a degree and diploma in the subject I decided to become more hands-on within the construction industry and re-trained to become a plumber. Before embarking on my own I studied NVQ 2 & 3 at Trowbridge College whilst serving my apprenticeship with a local plumbing firm.

Solo Plumbing & Heating is registered with the Gas Safe Register (Reg No. 194684) who as of 1st April 2009 will oversee the gas installation sector for the Health & Safety Executive, a role formerly operated by CORGI.

The company is registered as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering, (Reg No. 31262)

I am also a trained engineer with Viessmann, one of the world's largest heating manufacturers. As I prefer to install their range of gas boilers this allows me to offer extended guarantees of up to 5 years with their products.

Currently, having just completed the HETAS solid fuel engineer's exams, I am in the process of registering the company with HETAS to allow myself to self-certify the installation of solid fuel aplliances.
